One day a girl, who was busily checking Facebook for the 457,000th time that day, came across a an item in her news feed. It said
“Pay it forward 2012: I promise to make something handmade for the first five people who comment. You must in turn post this and make something for the first five who comment on your status. *The rules are it must be handmade by you, and your friends must receive it before 2012 ends. It can be something as simple as making a cup of coffee. Go!”
Now this girl was intrigued. Once she was crafty. She came from a crafty family. Recently she had spent WAY too much time perusing the crafts of others via that time suck of all time sucks Pinterest. But, she had not spent much time at all actually creating things. And she wanted to. A lot.
So, the girl re-posted the challenge to her own page, got 5 willing volunteers, and set out on a quest to regain her lost craftiness.
As you may have guessed by now, the girl is me, and this blog is going to chronicle my return to crafty. The 5 hand-made projects for 5 of my lovely Facebook friends will be the basis, but along the way there will (hopefully) be other posts about things handmade by me—the good, the bad, and the ugly.
