So, many months ago I pledged to make a pair of earrings for my son’s preschool auction. It seemed at the time a good way to make myself actually get back into the studio ( a corner of our basement, “basement” being a euphemism for “pit of despair” but that is fodder for another post.) Flash forward to now where I am still not done and the deadline is upon us–or has it passed? Hmm, I should check on that. Anyway, I thought I would share some photos of this project in progress. There is more to do: solder the loops closed, hammer the loops and earwires a bit to make them look more finished, and then run them through the tumbler for a nice shine (the hammering and the tumbling will also make the wire harden a bit for strength and stability.) I’ll add a photo of the final piece soon. Hopefully, soon 🙂
