Last night I stumbled across this great idea called Project: Create. It’s a Facebook group where people commit to create something every day for 30 days and post to the group. The idea is somewhat similar to what I am trying to do for myself with this blog i.e. let creativity flow. I’m going to try and keep up with something every day. Today I was bit more ambitious than I’ll be during the week simply because free time is harder to come by during the week.
This is a simple ring made from sterling wire wrapped around a mandrel, soldered, hammered, and then sent through the tumbler. It has a bit of the dreaded fire-scale (oxidation) that has proved difficult to remove. Luckily, its mostly on the inside of the ring so no harm done (except that I know its there, but I am trying to just accept it 😉
This was a practice run for a ring I want to create for one of my 5 handmade gifts in 2012. Overall, pretty happy with the results. It’s fairly comfortable…nice and light.
If you are on Facebook, consider joining the challenge, even in progress.
