Project Create: Day 4 (Another Pendant)

So, using the old earring yesterday to make a pendant got me thinking about the other singleton earrings that I have saved and what I could do with them. This winter I lost, for some reason,  the mates to about 5 different pairs of earrings. I actually stopped wearing earrings for a while because it was just getting too intense!  Now I only wear a few very secure pairs of long earrings, or those that have rubber backs to keep them in place. Lesson learned.

Anyway, I was trying to think of something quick and easy to do for today and inspiration hit. This is modeled after a charm necklace I saw once. You may have seen a similar style too. I used some silver wire, fashioned a quick U-shaped pendant to hold the earring, and attached some chain I had on hand to finish it off. Now I am looking at all those sad little single earrings in a new light.  They could all be worn in a similar fashion, or even grouped together for a slightly bohemian look.

This earring is definitely special. My husband bought the pair for me when we took a last romantic couple’s weekend away before my son was born a few years back. I’m excited to be able to wear the remaining earring, now as a necklace!

Here is day 4’s creation:
