Ugh. So tired today. I did not sleep well last night. Sadly, there was a serious crime committed near my home a few days ago, and quite frankly I have been bit jumpy, especially since I have been following the news about the whole thing pretty carefully. Last night, the cat who normally sleeps 20 out of 24 hours, decided to do a run through of the house in the wee morning hours. Worry + feline acrobatics = no sleep for me.
I did however, find what I considered a little treasure this morning. For awhile now I have wanted to do some sort of project with a map, but definitely did not like the idea of cutting up one that was still useful. I printed a few off the internet, but they just did not have that nice map feel I was going for. While looking for something unrelated I came upon a few pages from an atlas that were very damaged. Not sure how it happened, or where they even came from. Still, anything found in a pile of stuff in the basement is fair game.
Follow me long enough and you will discover that I love garland. So, one damaged atlas page, plus a large and small hole punch, and some bakers twine, turned into a lovely map-themed garland. I was even lucky enough that the damaged page contained many places familiar to me, including our current hometown. So I was able to include those places in our garland to make it extra-special. This garland found a home on my son’s bedroom wall. He thinks its pretty cool, so it’s a success in my book!
I also just noticed that there are some small fingerprints on my camera lens (and now in the photos.) Hmmm…I think a small person may have co-opted the camera for a bit 😉
