One thing I have noticed on this journey of creativity is that I am starting to see possibilities in everything. Every bag, piece of string, magazine, scrap of paper looks like something that has artistic potential. Case in point, my husband’s alumni magazine, which he may or may not have read yet, became the basis for the background of this art journal page.
The message “Today is your new beginning” has been on my mind because it relates to another journey I have been on…recovering from a running injury. To be clear, I am an athlete in my heart, but no one ever told my body. After fits and starts of exercise of one kind or another, I committed to and trained for a half-marathon. which I ran this past winter. On my way to training for my second, my body realized I was trying to be athletic, and put the kibosh on that with a pretty severe case of plantar fasciitis…ouchie foot as I like to call it. So after not running for the past two months, I hit the treadmill this morning for a slow, very slow walk. I’m (hopefully) on my way back. Today was my new beginning.
For this project I played with: magazine pages, modge podge, acrylics, sharpie, copper brads, paper grocery bags.
