Last night a friend who is going through a difficult time decided that she needed to let the whole thing go, to just “let it be.” That’s what inspired this little postcard. It probably wont be sent in the mail. I have a postcard size frame that I think I will use for it (once its totally dry :)) I was contemplating making a few postcards like this, perhaps with other sayings, and leaving them in public places. Perhaps they will speak to someone. Perhaps they will pass it on. Perhaps they will end up in the trash. Who knows. If I decide to do that I will document it here.
One thing new I tried today was an idea I had awhile ago. I used the backing from a sheet of stickers that my son had used up, punched holes in it, and used it as a dot stencil. It laid nice and flat on the paper and made a nice edge, and its non-stick quality made it lift nicely off the still tacky postcard (because I am too impatient to let anything dry all the way…)
To make this postcard I played with: postcard, paper, tissue paper, modge podge, acrylics, spray ink, sticker backing
