This was inspired by something I saw on Twitter. Who knew that Twitter would turn out to be inspirational for me, but there you have it (By the way, if you are on Twitter, lets connect!) The tweet stuck with me because it is a subject I have struggled with in the past…not letting someone’s opinion of me bring me down. It’s hard. I think in general we all want to be liked. But here is the thing: people may not like you for all sorts of different reasons, and some (many) of those reasons will be completely out of your control. So I choose to listen to the opinions of those around me who I love and admire, and listen to that inner voice that usually has my best interests at heart, and let the rest go.
To make this I played with: acrylics, spray inks, book pages, art paper, white out pen, and a sharpie. The text reads “Don’t let someone else’s opinion of you define your reality.”
In other news, you may have noticed that I redesigned the blog. I don’t really like this theme, but have not really had the time to play around with it, so who knows, the next time you stop by it may look different again!
