Those of you who have been with me since the beginning will remember that this whole jump back into creativity began with a post that was floating around Facebook back in January. It was a challenge to make 5 handmade gifts for five friends sometime in 2012. In return for your gift those friends had to promise to make 5 gifts for others, and so on, and so on, and so on…I really just loved the idea, so simple, yet so powerful.
I had no idea when I started this blog what sort of journey I was actually on creativity-wise (life-wise?) or where it would ultimately take me. It’s been a blast so far, and I have truly been learning something about myself with every project, but in the back of my mind I’ve been thinking about these 5 handmade gifts, and wanting to post about them and the people they go to. So, without further ado, here is post #1, about a bracelet for the lovely Tyler of BabyLux Design.
Tyler and I met because our sons go to the same preschool. She definitely has a creative vibe about her, but it wasn’t until I visited her blog and online store that I realized how truly talented she is. In fact, she has been a bit of an inspiration to me. Tyler’s creations are super cool, and she is too! If you have a few moments I encourage you to check out some of her stuff.
I don’t really know what to say about this bracelet except that I just got inspired one day. For Tyler, I knew I was going to make jewelry, and I wanted it to be something simple, casual, and just a bit funky. The focal piece is a sterling silver washer, hammered, with sterling chain on either side, and a tiny little pearl dangle at the end to finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by. I truly do appreciate everyone who takes a moment out of their busy day to read my ramblings and look at my photos (which by the way I hope will be getting better soon due to the impending purchase of some new equipment!)
