Hi all! Not a lot of arty stuff going on here this week which has been killing me since I am dying to try some of the techniques from this blog Ephemeral Gecko, which I have spent a great deal of time perusing lately. Some of these journal pages are just amazing. If you have a moment, I suggest checking it out. Beware though, my must-get supply list grew after reading this blog.
But the reason there has not been a lot of arty stuff going on is that I have been working like a madwoman to get things done, personally and professionally, so that I can go on vacation! We are heading to Scotland to hang out in Edinburgh for awhile and then up to the Highlands for a few days to search for the elusive Loch Ness monster. Well, that is my son’s plan anyway. I’ll be happy to just do a little hiking and exploring. People in Seattle think we are crazy to go to Scotland, another cool, misty, rainy place, but we went several years ago and loved it, so we are going back now with my son, and my parents in tow.
And, to make things both more fun, and more crazy, we had a holiday in the mix. Yesterday was Independence Day here in the US of A, more popularly and descriptively known as the Fourth of July! For most Americans this is a day to eat, drink, and set off fireworks (read make a lot of noise!) We headed out for a community parade in the morning, where kids decorate their bikes, wagons, strollers, and everybody walks the parade route to a party of sorts in a park. Here are a few photos from that outing. Hope you enjoy!
I’ll be back to art, craft etc in a few weeks!
I love Ephemeral Ghecko AND that you are going to Scotland. Uber jealous here. 🙂 Have a wonderful trip!
Thanks Carly!
Woo! It’s absolutely pouring with rain in the north of England right now and I imagine it’s much the same in Scotland, but I hope you have a wonderful holiday. Edinburgh’s one of my very favourite cities 🙂 xxx
Thanks! This is the first time I’ve had chance to explore Edinburgh and I’m very excited. It was pouring when we arrived….looking a bit better this morning, thankfully!
Love the decorated bike. Wishing you traveling grace on your visit to Scotland. Hope you have a beautiful time.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!.
Aw, you guys! big thanks for the love – I’m quite touched! Wishing you an awesome holiday – can’t wait to see what you create when you come back all refreshed and brimming with ideas! 😀
