We are back from lovely Scotland and still trying to get our bearings. The time change is a killer and I am not adjusting nearly as well as I anticipated. I’ve been nodding off about 8:00 PM no matter what. I think I need a few more days to adjust. Though, truth be told, I’ve always liked to turn in early. I usually joke that I’m not a morning person or an evening person. I’m a midday sort of gal!
Today I had an attack of the “creativities.” I was trying to get some work done, but it was one of those days where pretty much everything I touched either broke, stopped working mysteriously, crashed, was down for maintenance, or some other such thing. So, I decided to step away, and take a creativity break.
Anyway, while on our trip I indulged my love of scarves. Since I had about three outfits with me, in various shades of cream, grey or black (BORING!) scarves were my way of livening things up a bit (I realize I sound like a little old lady, just go with it 😉 With that in mind, today I turned a favorite t-shirt (knocked out of commission by a serious bleach stain) into a necklace/scarf/little piece of wearable art.
I followed (mostly) this tutorial, but you know of course, that I am terrible at sticking to directions. For what its worth, you can be pretty sloppy in both the width of your fabric strips and the straightness of your cuts. I basically winged it with my trusty pair of scissors and it turned out great. This is a very forgiving project.
It’s great to be back and once I get my act together I will have some lovely trip pictures to post.
Have a great day!
