Ugh. The effects of a few nights with no sleep paired with a spell of hot weather has left me feeling sort of dull and listless. The temperature here has been in the 90’s, and unlike many other parts of the States, people in our region seldom have air conditioning of any sort. Basically, it’s so rarely hot here that we are completely unequipped to deal with it. So the house gets WARM. Very, very warm. I can’t tell if the no sleep is heat related, or just arrived coincidentally to make sure I was really off my game. Okay, enough whining and on to the real reason I’m here tonight….tassels.
What? Well, I saw this adorable necklace in a shop that was basically a little silver tassel on a chain. Like crafty people often do I checked the price, thought “Hmmph, I could probably make that…” then walked away. I know some of you are nodding right now. You do it, too! Anyway, I sort of forgot about it, then I was going through an old jewelry box one day and discovered a singleton earring that I held on to for sentimental reasons (some of you may have heard me mention before that I an a chronic earring loser…) It was perfect for turning into a pretty decent replica of the necklace I had been admiring. And, it took about 3 minutes to accomplish.
Then, feeling all tassel happy, I took some of the cool paper beads I made a few months back and created another tassel look with a few silver headpins, some wire , and bits of chain I held on to from a previous project. And, presto! Another tassel-like pendant was created.
Goodnight, all! I feel a hint of a breeze coming through the window. It’s definitely cooling off! Hooray! Hooray! Time to get some sleep
