Many crafty plans were set aside this weekend in order to squeeze in one more camping trip before the cold and rain settle back in to Seattle. We are lucky here to be surrounded by lots of trees and beautiful water views along the Puget Sound. Beaches along the Sound are rocky/pebbly, not what most think of when they hear the word “sand.” We wanted some real, honest to goodness sand, so we ventured out past the Sound to the Pacific Ocean, and stayed in a lovely area called Kalaloch, which is part of the amazingly beautiful Olympic National Park.
Here are a few photos from the weekend, along with a quick little project I made from a lovely rock I collected that day (I felt sort of strange taking the rock only to find out later its permissible to take an entire bucket-full off the beach!) Next time I go with bucket in hand.
And no matter where you are, if you are heading into fall, or leaving it behind for the beginnings of summer, I hope there is a little sunshine in your day tomorrow!
