Well hello there!
While I have been terrible about updating my blog, but I have still quietly been creating in the background 🙂 Lots to share with you so I’m going to spend the next few days trying to get caught up on posting.
As you my remember, I’ve been participating in LifeBook 2013. One of the exercises I found most challenging was painting my “muse.” In a nutshell, this activity was about freely painting a face and that the face would be a representation of your muse, the being that inspires our creative pursuits.
I have to admit to being skeptical about the process. Ive never really felt I had a “muse” and certainly not one that is ethereal or otherworldly. Various people I know have inspired creativity at times, but a muse…? My other challenge, which is not a surprise to those who know me, is that it was very much an exercise that called for using paint brushes. I barely have any…I almost always use my fingers.
So, the interesting thing is, that as I worked on this, a face did emerge, and it felt familiar, and I liked it. My muse? No idea. But this was most certainly an interesting exercise and in the end I even used my fingers for a bit!
Meet my muse.
