Two weeks ago I was in a collage frenzy. If you have been with me for awhile you know that I dig collage…almost everything I do has at least some collage component. For some reason though I always felt compelled to fill the whole page and quite frankly I was becoming a bit bored with the usual operating procedure.
And then like a lot of simple ideas that make you go “duh” I realized I could make my collage any shape and size on the page…and cover just a portion. I know, I know. Not rocket science, but it had not really occurred to me before. And boom, a series of collages that fill just a part of the page and have their own unique shape.
To make these I played with various papers, washi tapes, acrylics and acrylic ink, alcohol ink, sharpies, stamps, and pencil.
